Sometimes a meeting or presentation will take your career in a whole new direction.
In 1988,
Jo Kirchner owned a small PR company whose client was the Roswell Chamber of
Commerce. Attending one of her presentations was a top executive of
Primrose, a chain of child care centers.
He was impressed and hired her as VP of marketing, just as the company began its franchising
efforts. She was a working mother and knew first hand how hard it is to find nannies and good child
care, and she was impressed with the Primrose model.
Jo took over as CEO in 1999 and is taking over as spokesperson for Primrose as they expand
nationally beyond the 160 schools in 15 states.
And for balance: She puts on jeans and a ball cap and drives her ATV around the 40-acre farm
she shares with her husband.
